Is anyone out there like me? I have dreams of menswear inspired looks. Actually I have dreams of menswear in general. There is just something timeless about a woman dawned in a looks that are technically meant for a man.
I’d say at least 50% of the time I am a bit androgynous and I never seem to realize it until I am in a room full of women. Again I ask, am I alone in this? Come on people… don’t leave me out here hanging.
So when attempting to pull together a three piece suit look without actually owning proper three piece suit, I say slightly eclectic is the way to go. Consider a faux leather top like this H&M beauty, a stiff pair of cotton pants also courtesy of H&M and an over sized blazer courtesy of my grandpa’s closet.
Make sure the pieces are all in the same tones. They don’t need to match. It’s better if they don’t totally match since they are not actually a suit. This way the look has some depth.
Just the opposite of the huge ugly shoe trend..(a trend I happen to love) when going for menswear inspired I always add a piece that is utterly feminine. These Senso strappy nude sandals are just that and they have been in heavy rotation since I got them a few weeks ago. Talk about a shoe that works with EVERYTHING! So comfy. The heel is just high enough to add some inches to your frame.
