As some of you may know, I had to take a last minute trip to New Orleans to celebrate the life of and say good bye to my Uncle Buddy, whom my father was named after. As all creole send offs go, it was both a sad and joyous occasion. We laughed, cried, ate lots of food, spent time with family, met some of the newest additions and told countless stories. As as all my trips to New Orleans go, I felt the spirit of my ancestors in every part of the city.
When I travel to New Orleans I love to shoot in the French Quarter. It’s the oldest part of the city. There even before New Orleans was a part of the United States.. and here is the best part.. in the French Quarter when a building is repaired or renovated it has to be put back exactly as it was, even down to the paint. That’s how so much of New Orleans retains it charm.
While in the hot humid summer visits to this historical city, I love to add a bit of southern vintage inspired essence to my wardrobe. A beautiful flowing floral sundress is about as southern belle as it gets. Paired with an oversized blazer, a square sandal and an bright clutch, all four together add a slight modern touch.
A quick note about my New Orleans Photographer.
I met Olli Alexander Last year when I was in New Orleans for a family reunion and we worked together and I new I had to work with him again this time. I adore his work.
If you need any New Orleans Photography ie: Weddings, Blog, Instagram, Business etc I highly recommend him..
