It’s beginning to feel like Spring again.  Summer here in LA is more like it and although I made a vow just last week to start wearing more color, which will be happening soon I promise, there is nothing more chic yet chill than black on black.
Just because the sun is shining, the flowers are blooming and the spell of Spring is in the air doesn’t mean that your blacks have to be stored away.   Light weight blazers and summer dresses are a super sweet go to on those spring days where you may be having what I like to affectionately refer to as “Fashion-block”, which is sort of like writers block but…. well you get it!

Anyhow… Back to the subject at hand..

Now that I have convinced you that black on black is the way to go  and now that it’s firmly planted in your brain,  just a few small rules.  Of course Morticia is probably not the look you are going don’t for get to add pops of color and texture to your black on black ensemble.  Here I did just that with the leopard sneakers and the and the white cross body bag.   Keep your  hair and make up to a minimum.  I did that here with the help of NudeStix and a slick bun.  And… one last rule that I love to stick as close as possible to.  Make sure your blacks match as much as humanly possible.  Not all blacks are created equal.  Some are more blue, some more purple, some more brown and mixing these can “unChic” your look in an instant.

Happy Monday All!!

Black in the Spring…
