A little Los Angeles Bistro called La Poubelle

I don’t know about you but I myself have a super active imagination.. I fantasize about the places I have not been yet and I dream about the places I am dying to see again..   Paris is one of them..  I cannot wait to return to Paris.   I’ve only been there once but it quickly became my favorite city in the world.  One of the things I love most about Paris is the food.. I could eat all day everyday in Paris..

So until I return to that beloved city..  A little Los Angeles Bistro called La Poubelle has got me covered..

Now the translation for “La Poubelle” is litteraly “The Trash” .. and this trash will have you coming back for more!

A few facts about La Poubelle..

★Opened in 1969 as a crepery
★Has been at the same address for 4 decades
★Regarded as an L.A. Landmark
★August 2014, Established a new menu
Okay now that you have some back-story.. Let me tell you about a dinner to remember..
I hosted a wonderful little dinner for some blogger buddies of mine and La Poubelle was my place of choice.  Having not been there in years I was excited to try the new menu under the direction of Executive Chef Johnny Zone… and let me tell you the night did not disappoint!
Some of my favorite dishes of the evening:  The Truffle Fries, Oysters, Bouillabaisse Comme à Marseille, Boeuf Bourguignon, Truite Fumée et Pommes de Terre and two of the neighborhood favorites, Crispy Brussels Sprout Leaves and  Bruschetta w/ Burratta.

Yep we ate a whole lot and everything we had was incredible.

To dine inside La Poubelle transports you to a sweet little authentic Parisian cafe and to enjoy a great meal on the outside patio is a delectable session of people watching.   Either way you can’t go wrong.

From the Swingset cocktail, which is a perfect combo of presseco and strawberry rhubarb topped with Pop Rocks (remember those) to the Cream Brulee and everything in between, you will leave La Poubelle with a smile on your face and a happy belly.  I can’t wait to go back!
