I recently came across a photo of myself at a junior high school dance. In said photo I was wearing a dress. A crushed velvet body con black dress that had a velvet rose smack dab in the middle of the scooped neckline. Sounds atrocious right? Actually it was kind of cute. I remember
that dress. It was my mothers, until I decided to borrow it and never give it back. Which was quite clever at the time considering that we lived in the same house. Anyhow.. Velvet.. all the rage back then and I am all about it right now.
So when these Audra plush velvet flared leggings showed up at my door I practically forgot about everything else in my closet. Three elements that come together to make these the perfect pant. They’re warm, make your legs look a mile long and they stretch. This means I can eat what I want when I want.. at least during the holidays and not worry about my blood circulation being squeezed to a minimum. They are so darn fab that I have had them for a week and I have worn them 3 times already..

…and speaking of wearing an item to death.. This Shop Anthom coat has gotten quick a bit of mileage in the week since I decided to make it mine. It was lust at first sight. Absolute perfection. Warm, slouchy (I tend to like my coats on the bigger side) and pretty much works with everything.. not to mention the price is right.. at $128 bucks.. how can one pass this up.. SCORE!!

Moving right along. This necklace and bracelet. Again lust at first sight. I’ve worn Micha Designs before here on Stuff She Likes and I thought it’s been far too long. So when I ran into Micha at a Holiday party I had to see what she had been cooking up over that the MD headquarters.. and cooking has been plentiful. Wearable art I like to call it!
While her website is down for some year end maintenance.. Hit her up on instagram to shop at @Micha_Design
All three of these companies I have mentioned are small businesses owned and operated by women. I think that is pretty darn rad.. While it’s great to wear and love the big designers I love to support the up and comers.. especially when they are Gals!! So this Holiday.. shop some up and comers too.. you won’t be sorry..
Up and comers..
