Sseko Designs.. 30 days..30 ways for Education.

I am so thrilled to be a part of Sseko Designs “30 Ways, 30 Days to Educate Women in Africa”.  Breaking the cycle of poverty and lending myself to bring awareness to women around the world is a true honor.   I believe that empowerment through education is the key to forward thinking and a brighter future for not just those we help but for ourselves as well. 

So here’s what you should know..

Sseko is a
Ugandan based company that employs women in the 9 months between when they graduate high school and begin college.  Often times in those months a woman will not make enough money to pay for tuition or she will succumb to pressure to give her earnings to her family.  At Sseko 50% of her salary is put in a savings account where it remains until her tuition is due.  

These beautiful ladies often go on to be educators, doctors and professionals.

Every year in the month of July Sseko partners up with style influencers and taste makers, enabling us to style our sandals and pass this amazing information on to you..

..And here’s the other cool part.  Your Sseko sandals are your design.  You pick your straps and your accessories.  There are virtually hundreds of ways to tie your Sseko straps allowing you to create your own style.  I love the structure of wrapping my straps as many times as possible around my foot and around my ankle.  They worked perfectly with this Harlyn Label dress.  I also got a pair of white straps.. can’t wait to style those.
