M Cafe = Perfect Eating

How does one blog effectively post about a place they have been a regular customer at for the last 6 years..

They just say YES!

When I got the call to have a Stuff She Likes tasting at M Cafe I was again all gitty.. Just as I was gitty about my lunch at Neiman Marcus.. It seems like my favorites are seeking me out.. I feel so honored..

I have only great great things to say about M Cafe.  It’s a place that many people seem to think is some kind of strange earthy, meditation, brown rice, green leaf only type of place.  Well I am here to tell you
that it’s that and so much more.  There is something for everyone, unless you are a steak, white refined sugar, processed only food eater.

It’s Macrobiotic.  It’s dairy free. It’s red meat and poultry free and simply delicious.
Just check out the photo’s of my amazing lunch.
Tuna Burgers and fries.  Sweet Potato fries with home made ketchup.  Raw kale salad. Brown Rice Salad. Salmon rice bowls.  Cupcakes from Baby Cakes.  Sushi.  Cookies.  Kale & ginger lemonade and my favorite.. Vegan chocolate cake to die for!

Okay now I am sure that many of you are asking yourself.. what exactly is MACROBIOTIC?

Well as any good blogger would do, I have taken a definition straight from the wikipedia page

“A macrobiotic diet (or macrobiotics), from “macro” (long) and “bios, biot-” (life)[1], is a dietary regimen which involves eating grains as a staple food supplemented with other foodstuffs such as local vegetables,
avoiding the use of highly processed or refined foods and most animal
products. Macrobiotics also addresses the manner of eating by
recommending against overeating and requiring that food be chewed thoroughly before swallowing. Macrobiotics writers present it as a means of combating cancer”

In an effort not to crowd this post with the technicalities of Macrobiotics read more here if you wish.

They have a big selection of fresh made juice, tea, coffee and dessert.

Above is the Bi-Bim Bop bowl with with marinated salmon and  pan-fried tofu, Korean-style vegetables, spicy miso sauce & house-made kim chee.

Below is the deli salad trio which I get about 50 percent of the time. You can choose between any of the fresh daily made salads in the deli case and make a meal out of it.

..Behold the Grilled Tuna Burger.  My one of my personal favorites..  It’s glazed with teriyaki sauce & garnished with sliced avocado, pickled red onions, daikon sprouts, spicy yuzu mayo, fresh shiso leaf and served on a house-baked whole wheat bun.

Gotta adore a place that has Stevia as an option.

I think the photo’s pretty much say it all..

and.. M Café will soon be launching their “Macro Hour” – the happy hour for health conscious next month.  Stay Tuned for details.

M Cafe… I “Like”
